Family group

These elephants were within spitting distance, the closest I've been, part of a herd of at least 25 - and yes, I was not entirely at my ease!

I'm confined to barracks (or should that be "sties", a friend asked) with "swine flu" so for the next few days I'll be posting shots from the archives. This one was taken last year in the Kruger National Park.

Wow! Great shot! I like the color of African elephants, they are different from Indian elephants!

That is so awesome. I grew up watching every animal documentary I could, and Africa has always fascinated me. Maybe someday I'll get over there, but there are so many other places I'd love to see as well, and there's still so much around her to see. But, yeah, I don't think I'd be entirely at ease myself, but I think I'd rather face the elephants than the swine flu. Get well soon.
