Local colour

The brightly coloured flowers that flourish here surprise and delight me. I have no idea what most of them are. Interestingly the tropical bougainvillea that flourishes in Aurora's hotter and drier climate seems to struggle in this wetter environment.

I wonder whether the brightly colourful buildings that I see here have anything to do with the climate (I'll show some in future posts) or is there another reason, perhaps cultural?
