Nun's hat

The three bells, so simply hung, are completely harmonious with the le Corbusier chapel at Ronchamps. I had wanted to visit here ever since my student years; le Corbusier was a most controversial architect (he of the "a house is a machine for living in" quote, who also built the would-be Utopian Unite de la Habitatione in Marseilles, which leaves much to be desired) and I wasn't sure how I would react to it.
I needn't have wondered - the chapel is all and more than I had expected. Its quiet contemplative and low-lit interior invites deep thoughts of peace. I would have liked to just "sit and think" there for hours.
