The other side of the coin

Wild and beautiful country (with the "wrong" side of Table Mountain visible in the distance on the other side of False Bay) attracts wild and not-so-beautiful baboons with unexpecedly high intelligence. They can be really dangerous when they are after easy pickings of food, so this roadside waste-bin has a very necessary anti-baboon cover of some complexity.

House designs here have to take into account the possibility of raiding troops of baboons, who have even learned to open windows and doors of all types, and to open (and empty) refrigerators. It can be a real test of architectural ingenuity.

An anti-baboon cover...now that is unusual! Happy Holidays!

It's hard to imagine having to be aware of raiding animals! We do have parks where bears can be a problem but, for the most part we don't have to worry about animals breaking into our homes. Very interesting.

You have baboons running around? That's fascinating!
