Meerkat

Picked up as an orphaned baby, reared predominantly in a friend's cleavage, very much part of the family. Usually we see them scurrying across the road to safety but sometimes they mistime the scurry and all we see is a pathetic little corpse, so it's good to see this one in such good health.

So cute! I love meerkats but have never seen them in the wild...

I love meerkats too! They are a very interesting animal. Some years ago I saw a National Geographic show about meerkats that was remarkable. At the time, I had a house cat and I remember when I watched the show, the sound the meerkats made attracted my cat who came over to the television and sat up like a begging dog to watch the show with me. It was amazing.

What a cute photo! I love meerkats. It would be so fun to see them out in the wild.

I'm not familiar with meerkats. Are they friendly? They look kind of like a racoon.

This is a wonderful picture. To me it looks a little like a 'possum. (My son would like to add that it is very cute!)

I have been looking at your blog for a while, and have been enjoying it very much. Today I have an award for you over at my blog, Lexington Daily Photo.

I just wanted to recognize you and your blog -- as far as I'm concerned you're under no obligation to pass it on; but please do if you want to. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos of South Africa!
