Rocks to avoid

The journey from Saldanha to Laaiplek took 10 hours and was fascinating. The rocky coastline and several offshore rocks have to be given a wide berth, there were, gulls, cormorants and gannets in abundance, and playful seals popped up all over the place. A few groups of dolphins paid brief visits, but we were treated to the best whale-viewing ever. Never much more than 100 metres away from the boat, the 13th and 14th whales were so close to the boat - about 20 metres - that we could clearly see the encrustations on their heads. More pics tomorrow!
