Proteas

These are just a few of the proteas that grow in the Cape. I brought home an armload to photograph, and Cleopatra insisted on being in on the act.
The cracked paint on the sash window is not one of those currently fashionable finishes applied to make things look old - it actually is about 100 years old - and I keep it that way because its multi-coloured layers tell a story of the years.

Cleo looking adorable once again! The proteas are lovely, do they grow in your garden or in the wild?

Cheers!
