Aurora flamingoes!

This is an extra post, especially for Peter and Dawn, who will only be home from Indonesia a month hence...

Not a great photo, I couldn't get closer - but the gale-force South-Easter has discouraged the birds in the Velddrif estuary and a bunch of flamingoes have temporarily moved to the flooded fields outside Aurora!

One of the many reasons I love coming to your site Shelagh - the sight of wild flamingos and the thought that someone actually gets the joy of living in a place where this is commonplace. Cheers!

Not easy to catch them from the distance but the feel of space is beautiful and you can see these pretty in pink birds quite well! Cheers!
