Auckland, city of sails!

Aurora, with its 350 or so residents, doesn't even classify as a town, let alone a city, nor does it have a twin - so I've elected to post a photograph taken during a visit to Lachezar and his family in Auckland, in May this year. To me this view of yachts racing typifies this beautiful city in a beautiful country.

Today is Theme Day - Sister Cities
Please visit the other participating cities:

I think there's always something interesting to be found if you look for it. If you have a camera and a blog to put it all together you can have something special to share. Aurora looks like a wonderful place and I'm glad I visited.

This would make Aukland your step-sister? Nice choice! Isn't it great when you can choose your family members??

Shelagh, I just noticed that Aurora follows Auckland alphabetically in our theme day list today. Now what are the odds of having your good friend with which you are exchanging photos for sister cities right next to you in the list for theme day! It was simply meant to be. I enjoyed your dramatic photo of the church with stormy sky on his site, and this one you've taken of Auckland's water beauty reminds me of Seattle, too.

You've won me over; any place with yachts must be a nice place. A good choice.

I've had a brief look at your site. I will be back to explore it when I have more time.

It has been interesting see cities that don't have sister cities. The free choice has worked out really well, like yours when you get a personal reason why you pick it.
