The upper photograph is not of snow but of wall-to-wall daisy-like flowers.The lower one is of a euphorbis type of plant - no flowers but the new growth is a bright reddish colour. The plants in this area vary incredibly, and have the shortest of lives - they have to complete the growing and seeding cycle before the sand in which they grow dries up.
