Vultures and other birds

These vultures were squabbling over the carcase of a buffalo - a noisy affair, with much hissing and wing-flapping. The pecking order is very important, with the lappet-faced vulture usually gerring the better of smaller opponents.
A treeful of vultures waiting for dinner. We couldn't see what or where this was, but they definitely knew it would be worth waiting for.

The lilac-breasted roller is less often seen, these days, but still one of my favourites.

It was quite a thrill to see this big Martial Eagle - a fairly common bird but with its ever-reducing range of habitat we are seeing less and less of them.
