The reserve includes the stream where gold was first discovered in Southern Africa, before richer and more workable deposits were found in Soluth Africa. Around this site are a number of koppies, jumbles of boulders that catch the afternoon light and typify the serene character of the dry bushveld. It's a good place for contemplation.
