Giraffes are plentiful in the Southern parts of the Park. These two were particularly good-looking, darker in colour than usual, but what really caught my attention on this one (the upper picture) was the very clear pattern of healed claw-marks, on the rump, just where a lioness would normally attack. I will always wonder whether the lioness succumbed to those lethal hooves, or whether the giraffe survived in some other way.

A really lucky giraffe, well spotted!
Cheers!
