Water is scarce here. About 18 months ago a gale created dunes over the road - they were moved by bulldozer to the sides of the road, bushes grew on them but dried out during the summer. The ostriches - 2 females with chicks - that I wanted to photograph fled at high speed when I stopped the car. A little further on a windmill provided some water for stock. The farmers pump out so much water for their potato crops that the water table is dropping, seriously and the dunes could take over.

Wow, the poles disappearing on the horizon are really magnificent! A very peaceful image of the windmill I like it!
