Rocks and hollows

The sandstone rocks in this area weather easily, providing a selection of shallow caves that gave shelter to the San people, many years back. The best of these provided shelter from wind and weather together with a good view of the game moving in the valleys and plains below - (the equivalent of supermarket shopping?) Many have been decorated with paintings, or show other signs of human habitation.
